Another amazing NCHA finals on the evening of December 12th. It seemed as though at the beginning of the first herd things could have gotten a little bit western. It didn’t appear that the cattle were going to be very good. The first few horses had a few issues with cows that seemed to want to run more than taking a hold of and actually working the horse. As they got further into the herd the cattle got better and so did the scores. Wesley Gaylean marked a 222 and held the lead for quite sometime, until the second set and One Time Royalty came out, One Time Royalty clearly was a step above the other horses on finals night in Ft. Worth, Texas. Lloyd Cox has been in the NCHA finals 13 times, everyone knew it was just a matter of time. Quite honestly it is hard to believe Lloyd had not won this event before, he’s a great trainer with a long list of accomplishments. Most people would remember him for his epic partnership with the great TR Dual Rey. Congratulations to Lloyd and One Time Royalty!
